Agama (mythology)
Agama, that is, which has come down (impliedly from the divine source) is a body of treatises and texts consisting of mythological, ritual and philosophical materials, not contained in the Vedic texts. According to the tradition, unlike the Vedas, Agams were accessible to women and non-Brahmins.
