Advanced Technology Solar Telescope
The Advanced Technology Solar Telescope (ATST) is a large solar telescope facility that is being studied by the National Solar Observatory for construction atop the Haleakala volcano on the pacific island of Maui. The site was selected for its clear daytime atmospheric seeing conditions and its extremely clear skies (enabling study of the solar corona).
