Abortion in New Zealand

Abortion in New Zealand is currently legal to terminate pregnancies under 20 weeks gestation, or over 20 weeks if continued pregnancy would harm the health of the woman. Regulations in New Zealand require that abortions after 12 weeks gestation be performed in a 'licensed institution,' which generally understood to be a hospital.
