Abbo Cernuus



Abbo Cernuus ("The crooked") was a French Benedictine monk of Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés in Paris, sometimes called Abbo Parisiensis. He was born about the middle of the ninth century, was present at the siege of Paris by the Normans (885-86), and wrote a description of it in Latin verse, with an account of subsequent events to 896, "De bellis Parisiacae urbis.
