Adeptus Mechanicus
In the fictional Warhammer 40,000 universe, the Adeptus Mechanicus is a division of the Adeptus Terra dealing with technology and science. It is highly independent of the rest of the Imperium, often to the point of being almost a nation unto itself, with its own planets, armies, interstellar navies and government.
