Absamat Masaliyev



Absamat Masaliyevich Masaliyev (Абсамат Масалиевич Масалиев) (April 10, 1933, Alysh, Osh oblast, Kyrgyz SSR — July 31, 2004, Bishkek) was the leader of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic before it gained independence, and led the Party of Communists of Kyrgyzstan after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
