Abdel Basset Ali al-Megrahi
Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi (Arabic: عبد الباسط Ů…ŘŮ…ŘŻ علي المقرŘŮŠ) (born April 1, 1952) is a former Libyan intelligence officer, head of security for Libyan Arab Airlines, and director of the Center for Strategic Studies in Tripoli. On January 31], [[2001, he was convicted, by a panel of Scottish Judges sitting in a special court at Camp Zeist in the Netherlands, of 270 counts of murder for his part in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 21, 1988.
