Action of 25 September 1806
This battle took place on 25 September 1806 during the Napoleonic Wars between a British force of 6 battleships and a sloop (of which only 3 of the battleships were in action) and a French force of 5 frigates and 2 corvettes. Unusually for French ships of the period, the largest 4 frigates put up a tough fight, damaging the rigging of Mars in particular, before they were caught and captured.
