Batavian revolution
The term Batavian revolution refers to the political, social and cultural turmoil that marked the end of the Dutch Republic at the end of the 18th century. In the Netherlands, this era is called, together with the Napoleonic era, the "French-Batavian era" (1795–1815) even though the time spanned was only 20 years, of which 3 under French occupation.
