Battle of Fornovo

The Battle of Fornovo took place in July 1495 during the Italian Wars. The French routed the Italians in the ensuing struggle, but Charles VIII of France lost all of his booty and had to abandon his claims in Italy, making the affair a strategic victory for the Holy League, especially Venice.
