Backpacking Light Magazine was founded in early 2001 by modern-day ultralight backpacking evangelist Ryan Jordan (Hiker), author of Lightweight Backpacking and CampingJordan, Ryan (Editor). Lightweight Backpacking and Camping: A Field Guide to Wilderness Equipment, Technique, and Style Beartooth Mountain Press (2005).
