Baji Prabhu Deshpande
Baji Prabhu Deshpande (Marathi: बाजी प्रŕ¤ŕĄ‚ देशपांडे) (died 1660) was one of the lieutenants (also known as sardar) of Chattrapati Shivaji, founder of the Maratha empire. The legend of Baji Prabhu is intricately linked with the final battle during Shivaji's escape from Fort Panhala, where he played a key role in the final battle.
