Battle of Ostrowno
The Battle of Ostrowno took place on July 25 and 26 1812, between the French corps of Marshal Ney and Prince Eugene, with Marshal Murat's cavalry, and the Russian corps of Count Alexander Osterman and Pyotr Konovnitsyn. The Russians sternly repelled the attacks of the outnumbering enemy, giving Barclay de Tolly a three-day advantage over the French.
