Bartholomew Eliot George Warburton



Bartholomew Eliot George Warburton (1810 - 1852), miscellaneous writer, born in County Galway, travelled in the East, and published an account of his experiences, The Crescent and the Cross, which had remarkable success, brought out an historical work, Memoirs of Prince Rupert and the Cavaliers (1849), and edited Memoirs of Horace Walpole and his Contemporaries. He perished in the burning of the steamer RMS Amazon.
