Battle of Jankov



The Battle of Jankov (“Jankau”), one of the bloodiest of the Thirty Years' War, was fought on 23 February 1646 in southern Bohemia, some 50 km SSE of Prague, between Swedish troops (including the Finnish Hakkapeliitta) led by General Lennart Torstensson and Imperial troops led by Generals Melchior Hatzfeld and Goetz.
