Bak-Tang-Wiesenfeld sandpile
In physics, the Bak-Tang-Wiesenfeld "sandpile" model is the first discovered example of a dynamical system displaying self-organized criticality. It is named after Per Bak, Chao Tang and Kurt Wiesenfeld.
