Baby Richard case
The Baby Richard case was a highly publicized custody battle that took place over Danny Kirchner, a young child whose adoption was revoked when his biological father Otakar Kirchner won custody in a case that was decided in 1995 by the Illinois Supreme Court. The child became known as "Baby Richard" in widespread media coverage, spurred enormously by 100 columns written by Chicago newspaper columnist Bob Greene.
