Battle of Namaraq
The Battle of Namaraq was a conflict between the Muslim forces of the Caliph Umar against the Persian army commanded by Jaban, taking place September 634 in Namaraq near modern day Kufa. The battle ended in the defeat of the Persians, who lost heavily.
