Davenport Tablets
The Davenport Tablets are a series of fraudulent Native American “artifacts” discovered by amateur archaeologist, Reverend Jacob Gass, in the winter of 1877. They depict, among other things, illustrations of an astrological calendar, (Calendar Stone) Hebrew glyphs, the mathematical symbol for pi, musical notations, and representations of Biblical themes – such as the Tree of Knowledge and Noah's ark.
