Decriminalization of cannabis in the United States
Multiple states, counties, and cities have decriminalized cannabis for non-medical purposes to some extent. Most places have fines, drug education, or drug treatment in replace of incarceration or other severe punishments for possession of small amounts of marijuana or have made various marijuana offenses the lowest priority for law enforcement.
