David G. Burnet
David Gouverneur Burnet (April 14, 1788 – December 5, 1870) was an early politician within the short-lived Republic of Texas, serving as Interim President (1836 and again in 1841), Vice-President (1839-41). He was Secretary of State (1846) for the new state of Texas after it was annexed to the United States of America.
