David (Hebrew: דָּוִד, Standard Davíd Tiberian ;Arabic: داوود or داود, ; Tigrinya:ዳዊት, Dāwīt), meaning "beloved", was the second king of the united Kingdom of Israel (c. 1011 BCE – 971 BCE).
