David Mercer



David Mercer (born: 27 June 1928, Wakefield, England – died: 8 August 1980, Haifa, Israel) was an English playwright and dramatist. After working as a technician and in the Royal Navy he wrote plays that studied decline in British culture which became well known in the 1960s, including After Haggerty (1970) and A Suitable Case for Treatment (television, 1962) which was re-made as a film in 1966 called Morgan!.
