Electromagnetic mass
The electromagnetic mass of an electrically charged object, such as an electron, is the apparent increase in its mass due to its interaction with the electromagnetic field that surrounds it. This interaction is called the field reactionSin-Itiro Tomonaga, Nobel Lecture, May 6, 1966.
