Eastern UP
Eastern UP has often been called the "mother soil" of Indian Mafia. Azamgarh, in eastern Uttar Pradesh has seen the likes of Dawood Ibrahim and Abu Salem spending their formative years learning the ropes and then going on to manage one of the largest mafia empires Mumbai has seen.
