East Kirkby
Sitting on the A153 south of Horncastle, Lincolnshire, East Kirkby was a RAF base (code name ' Silksheen') during the Second World War, and the majority of the field is now abandoned, although there are allegedly ghosts associated with the strip, including a man dressed in air crew clothing seen walking along the far side of the strip, and footsteps heard descending the stairs in the derelict control tower.
