Economy of Salt Lake City
The economy of Salt Lake City, Utah is primarily service-oriented. While nearby Kennecott Copper Mine (the world's largest open-pit mine) provided a strong source of income during the 19th century, the city has evolved to an economy built on transit hubs, call centers, and seasonal tourism.
