Egyptian Feminist Union
The Egyptian Feminist Union (al-Ittihad al-Nisa al-Misri) was the first nationwide feminist movement in Egypt. It was founded at a meeting on 16 March, 1923 called at her home by the activist Huda Sha'rawi, who served as its first president until her death in 1947.
