El Grito del Norte
El Grito del Norte was a bilingual New Mexico newspaper co-founded by Elizabeth "Betita" Martinez and attorney Beverly Axelrod in 1968 as a vehicle to support the Alianza Federal de Mercedes. It expanded to cover the Chicano Movement in urban areas, workers' struggles, and Latino political prisoners, as well as Leftist causes.
