Eduardo Abaroa
Colonel Eduardo Abaroa (October 13, 1838 - March 23, 1879) (whose last name is also sometimes spelled Avaroa) was Bolivia's foremost hero of the War of the Pacific (1879–1883), which pitted Chile on one side and Bolivia and Peru on the other. He was one of the leaders of the civilian resistance to the Chilean invasion at the Battle of Topáter.
