Earth Collaboratory
The Earth Collaboratory is a forthcoming project at the University of Wisconsin that aims to share global environmental information in a highly interactive way. Based on a mix of ideas from wikis and Google Maps, the Earth Collaboratory will distribute state-of-the-art datasets concerning the global environment, and allow individuals to leave detailed comments about conditions where they live.
Information are taken from Wikipedia, the open encyclopedia, to which contribute many volunteers from around the whole world. Texts are available under the following conditions GNU Free Documentation License.
