Kansas City, Missouri, USA, is, based on the United States Census Bureau's 2004 population estimates, the largest city in Missouri and the 40th largest city in the United States. Moreover, it is the anchor city of the Kansas City Metropolitan Area, the second largest metropolitan area in Missouri and 27th largest in the United States.
