Filaggrin



Filaggrins are filament-associated proteins which bind to keratin fibers in epidermal cells. Individuals with truncation mutations in the gene coding for filaggrin result in a severe form of dry skin (ichthyosis vulgaris) and strongly predispose to eczema.
