Filippo Salvatore Gilii
Filippo Salvatore Gilii (1721–1789) (in Spanish: Felipe Salvator Gilij) was an Italian Jesuit priest who lived in Nueva Granada (present day central Venezuela) on the Orinoco river. Gilij is a celebrated figure in early South American linguistics due to his advanced insights into the nature of languages.
