The Fairfax Resolves was a statement drafted on July 17 1774 (soon after the Boston Tea Party) by George Washington, George Mason, and Patrick Henry at Washington's Mount Vernon home, in response to Great Britain's oppression of Massachusetts. The short document provided the following:
