Feathered hair
Feathered hair was a hairstyling technique popular in the 1970s and 1980s that involved cutting the hair using the shape of the head as a guide. By following the angle of the head when cutting the hair, a layered effect is achieved, causing the hair to spread out in these layered tresses, with the layers closest to the head often visible beneath the the outer ones.
