Fionn mac Cumhaill
Fionn mac Cumhaill (pronounced /f'uN mÉ™ ku:L'/, /f'iN mÉ™ ku:L'/, /f'u:n mÉ™ ku:l'/ or /f'oun mÉ™ ku:l'/ according to dialect) (earlier Finn or Find mac Cumail or mac Umaill, later Anglicised to "Finn McCool") was a mythical hunter-warrior of Irish mythology, occurring also in the mythologies of Scotland and the Isle of Man. The stories of Fionn and his followers, the Fianna, form the Fiannaidheacht or Fenian cycle, much of it supposedly narrated by Fionn's son, the poet OisĂn.
