First East Turkestan Republic



The First Eastern Turkestan Republic (ETR), or Turkish Islamic Republic of East Turkestan (TIRET), was a short-lived break-away would-be constitutional republic founded in 1933. It was centered around the city of Kashgar in what is today the People's Republic of China-administered region of Xinjiang.
