Faster-than-light
Faster-than-light (also superluminal or FTL) communications and travel refer to the propagation of information or matter, respectively, faster than the speed of light. This concept is a staple of the science fiction genre, but is generally considered impossible by the mainstream physics community, due to special relativity.
