Geraldton Gold Cup
The Geraldton Cup, a thoroughbred horse race, was first run on Dec 8, 1887 with a winners purse of ÂŁ300. The race, staged over 3200m by the Victoria Turf Club was won by Baron Necktar a full brother to Dunlop, the Melbourne Cup winner of the same year.
