George Churchill
George Churchill (1654 – 1710), admiral, younger brother of John Churchill, first duke of Marlborough, is said to have served as a volunteer in the navy in the Dutch war of 1666. During the Dutch war of 1672–4 he served as a lieutenant in the York and Fairfax, and in 1678 was appointed to command the Dartmouth.
