German spelling reform of 1996
The German spelling reform of 1996 (Rechtschreibreform) regulates the current German orthography and is based on an international agreement signed in 1996 by the governments of the German-speaking countries Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland. Luxembourg, a trilingual country with German as one of its official languages, has not endorsed the reform.
