GWR 111 The Great Bear The Great Bear, number 111, was a locomotive of the Great Western Railway. It was the first 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive in the United Kingdom, and the only of that type ever built by the GWR, who subsequently persisted with the tried and true 4-6-0 locomotive type.
GWR 1366 Class The Great Western Railway (GWR) 1366 Class is a class of 0-6-0 pannier tank steam locomotive built in 1934. They were developed from the 1361 Class but differed by including a pannier tank rather than a side tank, Belpaire firebox, Stephenson valve gear, etc.
GWR 2221 Class The Great Western Railway (GWR) 2221 Class or County Tank was a class of 4-4-2T steam locomotive, effectively a tank engine version of the 3800 "County" Class. Thirty were built between 1905 and 1912 to replace the 3600 "Birdcage" Class.
GWR 2600 Class The Great Western Railway (GWR) 2600 Class or Aberdare Class was a class of 2-6-0 steam locomotive built between 1900 and 1907. They were a freight version of the 3300 and 4120 classes designed for hauling coal trains between Aberdare and Swindon.

GWR 3521 Class The 3521 Class were forty tank locomotives designed by William Dean to haul passenger trains on the Great Western Railway. They were introduced as 0-4-2T locomotives in 1887, but were quickly altered to become 0-4-4Ts to improve their running.
GWR 3700 Class The Great Western Railway 3700 Class, or City Class, locomotives were a series of twenty 4-4-0 steam locomotives, designed for hauling express passenger trains. Ten of these locomotives were rebuilt from Atbara Class engines, the first (number 3405) being converted in September 1902 and the rest following in 1907-09.
GWR 3800 Class The Great Western Railway County Class 4-4-0 steam locomotives for passenger train work. This class were subject to the 1912 renumbering of GWR 4-4-0 locomotives, which saw the Bulldog class gathered together in the series 3300-3455, and other types renumbered out of that series.
GWR 388 class The GWR 388 class was a large class of 310 0-6-0 goods locomotives built by the Great Western Railway. They are sometimes referred to as the Armstrong goods to differentiate from the Gooch goods and Dean Goods classes, both of which were large classes of standard goods locomotives.
GWR 4073 Class 7029 Clun Castle 7029 Clun Castle was built to the Great Western Railway Castle Class design by the Western Region of British Railways at Swindon Works in May 1950 and was named after Clun Castle. Its first shed allocation was Newton Abbot.
GWR 4700 Class The Great Western Railway (GWR) 4700 Class was a class of nine 2-8-0 steam locomotives, numbered 4700 through 4708. They were the final locomotives designed by George Jackson Churchward and were introduced in 1919–1921 for fast goods work.
GWR 9400 Class The Great Western Railway (GWR) 9400 Class is a class of 0-6-0 pannier tank steam locomotive. The first ten were built by the GWR with the remaining 200 being built by private contractors for British Railways.
GWR Autocoach The GWR Autocoach was a type of coach used by the Great Western Railway. Used on branch lines, the autocoach featured a cab at the end allowing the driver to control the train without needing to be located in the cab of the steam locomotive.
GWR Banking Class The Banking Class were five 0-6-0ST broad gauge steam locomotives for assisting ("banking") trains up inclines on the Great Western Railway. Designed by Daniel Gooch, they were tank engine versions of his Standard Goods class, and mainly built at Swindon Works.
GWR Bogie Class The Great Western Railway Bogie Class 4-4-0ST broad gauge steam locomotives for passenger train work. The first two locomotives of this class were introduced into service in August/September 1849, with the remainder following between June 1854 and March 1855.
GWR diesel shunters The Great Western Railway purchased two diesel shunters, and ordered a further seven immediately prior to Nationalisation, which were delivered to British Rail in 1948-49. The two shunters used by the GWR were numbered 1 and 2, while a series commencing at 501 was planned for the new locomotives ordered in the 1940s.
GWR Firefly Class The Firefly was a class of broad gauge 2-2-2 steam locomotives used for passenger services on the Great Western Railway. The class was introduced into service between March 1840 and December 1842, and withdrawn between December 1863 and July 1879.

They were built by Charles Tayleur at his Vulcan Foundry but were unsuccessful and rapidly supplemented by the Star Class locomotives ordered by Daniel Gooch once he had been appointed as the Locomotive Engineer.

GWR Metropolitan Class The Great Western Railway Metropolitan Class 2-4-0T broad gauge steam locomotives with condensing apparatus for working trains on the Metropolitan Railway. This equipment was later removed, though the class continued to work suburban trains on GWR lines in London.
GWR Premier Class The Great Western Railway Premier Class 0-6-0 broad gauge steam locomotives for goods train work. This class was introduced into service between February 1846 and May 1847, and withdrawn between March 1866 and June 1872.
GWR Prince Class The Great Western Railway Prince Class 2-2-2 broad gauge steam locomotives for passenger train work. This class was introduced into service between August 1846 and March 1847, and withdrawn between January and September 1870.
GWR Pyracmon Class The Great Western Railway Pyracmon Class 0-6-0 broad gauge steam locomotives for goods train work. This class was introduced into service between November 1847 and April 1848, and withdrawn between August 1871 and December 1873.
GWR railcars In 1933, the Great Western Railway introduced the first of what was to become a very successful series of railcars, which survived in regular use into the 1960s, when they were replaced with the new British Rail First Generation type Diesel multiple units.

GX The GX launch vehicle is a rocket currently under development by the Galaxy Express Corporation, a joint-venture between Lockheed Martin (LM), Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), and several other Japanese companies. Gyaru Gyaru (ギャル) is a Japanese transliteration of the English word gal. The name originated from a 1970s brand of jeans called "gals" advertised with the slogan 'I can't live without men', and was applied to fashion and peer-conscious, college-age girls in their teens and early twenties.
Gyaru-moji Gyaru-moji (ギャル文字, "gal's alphabet") is a style of obfuscated Japanese writing popular amongst Japanese school girls. Like the English phenomenon of SMS language, it is most often used for sending cell phone text messages, but while text is used as a form of informal shorthand, a message typed in gyaru-moji usually requires more characters and effort than the same message typed in plain Japanese. It was invented by girls so that they could write messages to their friends when travelling on busy inner-city trains without those around them being able to read the messages over their shoulders. Since writing in gyaru-moji requires extra effort, and due to the perception of confidentiality, sending gyaru-moji messages to a peer is seen as a sign of close friendship.

Gyeongbuk Line The Gyeongbuk Line (Gyeongbukseon) is a railway line serving North Gyeongsang Province in South Korea. The line connects Gimcheon on the Gyeongbu Line to Jeomchon (junction with the Mungyeong Line), Sangju, and Yeongju (junction with the Jungang Line).

Gyeongsangbuk-do Gyeongsangbuk-do (North Gyeongsang) is a province in eastern South Korea. The province was formed in 1896 from the northern half of the former Gyeongsang province, remained a province of Korea until the country's division in 1945, then became part of South Korea. The provincial capital and largest city is Daegu, which was the capital of Gyeongsang before 1896 and which is separately administered as a provincial-level Metropolitan City today.
