Galactic quadrants (Star Trek)
In the television series Star Trek and its spin-offs, the term quadrant refers to an area of the Galaxy. In the original run, it referred to an area interchangeable with a sector, but since the 1990s, a system of four Galactic Quadrants, designated by the Greek letters Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta, has been used.
