George XI of Kartli
George XI (Georgian: á’ááťá á’á, Giorgi), known as Gurgin Khan (Gorgin Khan) in Persia (1651 – April 21, 1709), ruled Kartli, eastern Georgia, from 1676 to 1688 and again from 1703 to 1709. He is best known for his struggle, as a Saffavid commander, against the rebel Afghan tribes, that cost him life.
