Galveston Seawall
The Galveston Seawall, constructed in 1902, is a seawall that was built after the Galveston Hurricane of 1900 for protection from future hurricanes. The Seawall has never been overtopped by a storm surge from hurricanes but waves from the storms have caused considerable damage to buildings that line Seawall Boulevard.
