Gallowglass
The term Gallowglas or Galloglass is an Anglicisation of the Irish, GallĂłglaigh ("foreign soldiers"), incorporating the Celtic word Ă“glach, which is derived from oac, the Old Irish for "youths", but later meaning "soldier".
