George Frederick Holmes
George Frederick Holmes (1820-1897) was an American educator, born in British Guiana, educated at Durham University, England, and an immigrant to America in 1838. He taught in Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia, and was for a time one of the editors of the Southern Quarterly Review.
