Hamiltonian mechanics
Hamiltonian mechanics is a re-formulation of classical mechanics that was invented in 1833 by William Rowan Hamilton. It arose from Lagrangian mechanics, another re-formulation of classical mechanics, introduced by Joseph Louis Lagrange in 1788.
