HMAS Balikpapan (L 126) HMAS Balikpapan (L 126) is the lead ship of the Balikpapan class of heavy landing craft. She was laid down by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland in May 1971, launched on 15 August 1971 and commissioned on 8 December 1971.

HMAS Cairns (naval base) The second HMAS Cairns is a naval base of the Royal Australian Navy based, appropriately, at Cairns in Queensland. The facility was first used in 1971 when facilities for the maintenance of the RAN's patrol boats were established.

HMAS J7 HMAS J7 was a British J class submarine built for the Royal Navy by HM Dockyard at Devonport in Plymouth and launched on 12 February 1917, transferred to Australia on 25 March 1919 and operated out of Geelong in Victoria, paid off on 12 July 1922, was sold on 26 February 1924 and her hulk scuttled on 4 June 1926. Her wreck sits at the bottom of the mini harbour of the Sandringham yacht club in Port Phillip Bay.

Lithgow, in company with USS Edsall, HMAS Katoomba and HMAS Deloraine, sank the enemy Japanese submarine I-124 off Darwin, the first enemy submarine sunk in Australian waters, on 20 January 1942.
HMAS Madang (P 94) HMAS Madang (P 94), named for the settlement of Madang in New Guinea, was an Attack class patrol boat built by Evans Deakin at Brisbane in Queensland, launched on 10 August 1968 and commissioned on 29 November 1968. Madang paid off on 14 November 1974 and was transferred to the Papua New Guinea Defence Force.
HMAS Mallow HMAS Mallow was an Acacia class sloop built for the Royal Navy by Barclay and Curle at Glasgow in Scotland, launched on 13 July 1915 and transferred to the Royal Australian Navy in 1919. HMAS Mallow paid off to reserve on 18 October 1919, was decommissioned on 20 November 1925 and sunk as a target on 24 April 1935.
